April 17 talk offers tips, tools for parents on birth order, sibling rivalry
BELLEVUE -- Why are first and last children often opposites? What challenges or benefits will a middle child face throughout his or her lifetime? Should you adjust your parenting depending on birth order?
Gary Benton, noted child and family therapist and author of the parenting workbook, Firespitters, will answer those questions and more in a lecture entitled, “Birth Order & Sibling Rivalry,” at 7 p.m. April 17 in Bellevue Community College’s Carlson Theatre (located in the south courtyard of BCC’s main campus, 3000 Landerholm Circle S.E., Bellevue, at the intersection of S.E. 28th St. and 148th Ave. S.E.
Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door.

The event is sponsored by Bellevue Community College’s Parent Education Program Parent Advisory Committee.
The Parent Education program offers classes for parents and children together in a fun, nurturing environment. Learning focuses on nutrition, health, safety, family relationships, development milestones, time management, child guidance, and the physical, emotional, social and environmental needs of children. Classes are offered for parents of infants, pre-toddlers, toddlers and preschool-age.
