Award-winning vocal jazz ensemble to celebrate
35 years with “homecoming” concert May 30
BELLEVUE --Celebration!, Bellevue Community College’s nationally honored vocal jazz ensemble, has been pleasing audiences for 35 years. An invitation is extended to all Celebration! alumni and the entire community to help celebrate this milestone at the ensemble’s annual spring concert May 30.
The program begins at 7:30 p.m. in Carlson Theatre, located in the E Building on BCC’s main campus (3000 Landerholm Circle S.E., Bellevue, at the intersection of S.E. 28th St. and 148th Ave. S.E.).

In the past five years the 17-member jazz choir has won first place four times in the College Vocal Division and Jazz Combo Division at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival, the largest such event in the world. Celebration! has also won multiple first place awards at the University of Nevada Jazz Festival, and, through a competitive process, has been selected twice to perform at National Jazz Educators Association annual conferences and five times at the annual International Association for Jazz Education Conference.
Celebration! is directed by BCC Music Department Chairman Thomas Almli.
