BCC graduate Kendall Snow Gamble wins national interior design honor
BELLEVUE, WASH. -- Bellevue Community College (BCC) Interior Design graduate Kendall Snow Gamble has earned national recognition in Cooper Lighting's 30th Annual SOURCE Awards national lighting design competition.
One of only six students nationwide to win a SOURCE Award this year, Gamble received Honorable Mention for her conceptual lighting design of a clothing boutique.
Gamble received her award in May at Lightfair International 2007 in New York, the world’s largest annual commercial and architectural lighting tradeshow and conference.
She was awarded a crystal trophy, a check for $500, and an invitation to attend a complimentary class at The SOURCE, Cooper Lighting's educational center in Peachtree City, Ga.
Entries in the competition are judged on aesthetics, creativity and technical performance.
Bellevue Community College’s Interior Design program is one of only seven associate-degree programs in the nation to be accredited by the prestigious Council for Interior Design Accreditation (formerly known as FIDER). The other six are in California, Arizona and Texas.
More than 500 students are currently enrolled in the three-year program, which leads to an Associate of Arts in Interior Design degree.
An Interior Designer is a trained professional who uses artistic vision and technical knowledge of materials and construction to enhance the functional and aesthetic qualities of indoor spaces
