BCC launches Northwest’s first training program in high-demand field of electroneurodiagnostic technology
BELLEVUE, WASH. – Bellevue Community College will launch a new, 41-credit certificate program in electroneurodiagnostic (END) technology when Winter Quarter begins Jan. 2.
Designed specifically to help fill an urgent regional need for more END technologists, the program was created in close collaboration with local health-care professionals.
It will be the only such program in the greater Northwest states of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Utah and Washington.
A full-time student could complete the program within three to four academic quarters (nine to 12 months).
The program will accept about 20 students annually.
END technologists specialize in recording the electrical activity of the human brain and nervous system using electroencephalograph (EEG), evoked potential (EP), polysomnography (PSG) and other electronic equipment.
The majority of END technologists work in hospitals, private neurologist’s offices, neurology laboratories or psychiatric facilities.
Further information is available by contacting program chair Erica Ferreri at (425) 564-3144 or eferreri@bcc.ctc.edu.
