Best-selling author to share eight secrets to success through Goal-Free Living
BELLEVUE, WASH.- Best-selling author Stephen Shapiro, a nationally-known expert on innovation and personal success, will speak at Bellevue Community College on Feb. 27 in a free, public presentation entitled, "Success 101: the Goal-Free Approach."
The event begins at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, in room 201 of the N Building (on the south end of BCC's main campus, 3000 Landerholm Circle S.E., Bellevue).
Shapiro disputes the common belief that goals and strategic plans are the key to success. Real success, he says, comes from exploring detours and taking off the blinders that prevent people from seeing even bigger opportunities around them now.
During his BCC presentation, Shapiro will share eight secrets to unlocking one's true potential, as described in his recent best-seller, Goal Free Living - How to Have the Life You Want NOW!
The event is sponsored by Bellevue Community College's Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship Committee.
In addition to Goal-Free Living, Shapiro wrote the best-selling book, 24/7 Innovation: A Blueprint for Surviving and Thriving in an Age of Change, and founded The 24/7 Innovation Group, a management education and research organization concentrating on innovation and break-through thinking.
During his career, Shapiro has advised leading organizations around the world, including Staples, General Electric, Lockheed Martin, Xerox, Vodafone, Frito Lay, the government of Singapore, UPS and Bristol-Myers Squibb.
Shapiro has contributed to several Economist Intelligence Unit reports and to Bill Gates' book, Business @ the Speed of Thought, and authored dozens of magazine and newspaper articles, including contributions to Investor's Business Daily and the New York Times.
