BCC launches summer program for teens

BELLEVUE, WASH. - Teenagers will have an opportunity to experience college learning this summer with the launch of the Summer Program for Teens at Bellevue Community College in July and August.

Designed for 12- to 18-year-old students, classes will be offered in computers and technology, art and music, writing and languages, SAT preparation and outdoor recreation, including rowing. Experienced instructors will teach and challenge students, providing them with a taste of college as well as the opportunity to learn with their peers from around the area.

"During the past two summers we have had a growing number of middle school and high school students inquiring about classes," said Jeff Johnson, director of computer and technology programs at BCC Continuing Education. "This summer's programming for teens is designed to fulfill this need in our community."

Registration for the BCC Summer Program for Teens is available through the Continuing Education department on-line at www.conted.bcc.ctc.edu or by calling (425) 564-2263.

Bellevue Community College's Continuing Education division is the largest such "life-long learning" program among Washington state's 34 community and technical colleges. The division encompasses computing and technology programs; work-related and real estate programs; Art-Zones; Explore (personal enrichment); travel and world languages; business and professional contract training; and BCC's Small Business Development Center.
