Earth Week Celebration begins April 28

BELLEVUE, WASH. – Bellevue Community College presents its fourth annual Earth Week – a series of presentations, demonstrations, information booths, prizes, films and music – from April 28 to May 2 on the college campus.

It is believed to be the largest Earth Week celebration in the greater Seattle area this year.

Participants will hear speakers including King County Executive Ron Sims and regional and national environmentalists; gather information on global warming, solar power, “green” buildings, organic gardening and local watersheds; and even test their personal impact on the Earth via a dedicated web page.

On Friday, May 2, participants will have the opportunity to volunteer to help restore the Kelsey Creek Wetlands in Bellevue, in conjunction with the City of Bellevue Stream Team.

All of the events are free and open to the public, and most will take place in the student union (C Building) on Bellevue Community College's main campus at 3000 Landerholm Circle SE, Bellevue.

For more information, visit the web at www.scidiv.bcc.ctc.edu/rv/earthweek/, or contact Rob Viens in the BCC Science Division at rviens@bcc.ctc.edu or (425) 564-3158.
