Celebrate Earth Week at Bellevue Community College
BELLEVUE, WASH. - Presentations by John de Graaf, an independent producer of public-tv documentaries, and by Dr. Gordon Orians, president-elect of the Ecological Society of America, highlight a series of events celebrating Earth Week on the Bellevue Community College campus April 15-19.
All of the weeks activities are open to the public and free of charge.
DeGraaf, whose work includes the popular PBS documentary, Affluenza, on population and consumption issues, will discuss that topic in a lecture scheduled for Friday, April 19, at 11:30 a.m. in the colleges Carlson Theatre.
Orians, who for 11 years was Director of the Institute for Environmental Studies at the University of Washington, will discuss how economics affects ecology, at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, in Room L126 on the college campus.
