Subject-Specific Reference Resources Gale Virtual Reference Library This collection of electronic reference books contains titles in Law, Medicine, Science and Social Science. Natural Standard (Alternative Therapies/Medicine) "Natural Standard was founded by clinicians and researchers to provide high quality, evidence-based information about complementary and alternative therapies. This international multidisciplinary collaboration now includes contributors from more than 100 eminent academic institutions." Salem Press Health Salem Press Health includes Magill's Medical Guide and the Psychology and Mental Health Resource. Both resources cover diseases, disorders, treatments, procedures, specialties, anatomy, and biology. Salem Press History We have access to the "Decades" collections: The 1970s, The 1980s and The 1990s in America. Also provided is access to "Milestone Documents" in World History and American History. These resources are companions to the print reference sets of the same titles. Newspaper Databases ProQuest Newspapers ProQuest Newspapers database contains hundreds of full text newspapers from around the country. Washington State Newsstand This database contains the full text of 19 Washington State Newspapers. New York Times Historical Collection This database contains the full text of New York Times articles from 1851 to 2006. The database allows you to search by date or by topic. The Chronicle of Higher Education The Chronicle is a source of news, information, and jobs for college and university faculty members and administrators. Music Databases Music Online Music Online is the broadest and most comprehensive online music resource that cross-searches all of Bellevue College's Alexander Street Press music databases. Music online allows you to search by composer, genre, instrument, time period and many other elements. Contained within Music Online is the Smithsonian Global Sound Collection and the African American Music Collection. To access these, scroll to the bottom of the main Music Online page and select these resources from the drop-down list. |

The ARTstor database allows you to zoom in on images, save images for presentations and other features. Some specialized features of ARTstor require a username and password. For more information, please contact a reference librarian. E-Anatomy (Imaging) This digital atlas provides modules by anatomy or by imaging modality (CT or MRI). This resource allows you to view images layer by layer, provides label to the different parts of anatomy viewed in the images and has many other special features. Specialized Periodical Databases General Reference Resources Oxford English Dictionary The Oxford English Dictionary is the quintessential English language dictionary. "The Oxford English Dictionary is the accepted authority on the evolution of the English language over the last millennium. It is an unsurpassed guide to the meaning, history, and pronunciation of over half a million words, both present and past." CQ Historic Documents CQ Historic Documents contains primary documents such as Presidential speeches, international agreements and Supreme Court decisions. Spanning 1972 to the present, there are approximately 100 documents per calendar year. Oxford Reference Premium The Oxford Reference database contains electronic versions of dictionaries, encyclopedias, subject-specific reference books, timelines and facts published by Oxford University Press. eLibrary eLibrary allows you to simultaneously search more than 2,000 full text magazines, newspapers, books, and transcripts.
