To change this activity, you could:
- Select a paragraph from a discipline-specific resource and create alternative paraphrases.
- After students have worked through the activity, keeping in mind the rules of appropriate
paraphrase, have students write their own paraphrase of the original.
- Present students with part of an original work and have them write a appropriate paraphrase.
Go through the examples that students have written, discussing what is appropriate and what is not.
