This activity can be varied in the following ways:
  • Have a different final product. Instead of an annotated bibliography, students could give an in-class presentation, create a website, write a short paper, etc.
  • Vary the required resources. Students could focus on one search tool rather than the library catalog and several databases. Internet resources, which are not included, could be added.
  • Have the annotations reflect different content. Instead of asking for a summary of the source, have students tell you why it is a good resource, why they chose this resource, or how they would incorporate this resource into a research project.
