good source of information.
When you evaluate a website, here is what to look for:
Who created this website? Is there an author?
Is the information in this website cited? Do they tell you where they got their facts?
Is there a date on this website?
Does the website give a little information on many topics (like an encyclopedia) or in-depth information (like a book)?
Does the website show only one opinion or viewpoint?
Does the information on the website seem correct?
Look at the following website and answer the questions: http://www.epa.gov/globalwarming/
Can you tell who created this website?
Is there a bibliography or another way to tell where the website gathered information?
Is there a date on the website telling you when it was updated?
Does the website information seem correct?
Does the website show only one opinion or viewpoint?
What have you learned about the Internet?
Why is it important to evaluate information you find on the Internet?
