Quality Websites for your Research

Librarians' Index to the Internet
Librarians’ Index to the Internet provides links to the websites evaluated by librarians.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
In-depth statistical information on diseases and, especially used for tracking transmissible or communicable diseases.

Family Doctor.org
Hosted by the American Academy of Family Physicians, this website provides information on specific conditions or read articles on healthy living.

Health Information
This site from the National Institutes of Health allows you to browse topics A-Z and also has illnesses and disorders grouped by category.

Health News Review
This site reviews health related articles that have recently been in the news and evaluates the news stores on criteria such as availability of treatment, sources of information, harms of treatment and other factors.

Healthfinder
Extensive linking to evaluated sites, including those established by individual hospitals, provided by the U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services.

Healthwise Database
This resource is provided by Group Health Cooperative and provides information on many health-related topics. This site clearly identifies the author and the date of the information provided.

Medline Plus
Links to evaluated sites, provided by the National Library of Medicine.

News in Health
Consumer health information from the National Institutes of Health.
