PubMed is a free database put together by the National Library of Medicine. PubMed is huge and has a lot to offer. We've already explored how useful PubMed can be in figuring out proper search vocabulary. PubMed also provides a wealth of information via medically-focused articles. Only a portion of the articles that you find in PubMed are full-text, so you have to be thoughtful. The full-text articles in PubMed are all indexed in a subset called "PubMed Central." If you're only interested in full-text articles, you can simply limit your search to PubMed Central. I'll also show you how you can access some of PubMed's content through ESCOhost's MedLine database.

If you want to broaden your search, you can search across all of PubMed. This search will find more articles, but many of the articles you will have to locate at a library. The BC Library doesn't own a lot of these titles, but the University of Washington's Health Sciences library has many of the titles. You would have to visit the University of Washington in order to read the actual articles. You're welcome to visit the University of Washington, it just takes some time!
