Many of the Library resources, especially the periodical databases, will use specialized vocabulary. While you can generally search using natural language, common every day language such as heart attack, it's generally best to know the specific medical vocabulary. Some of the main resources I will be showing you: PubMed, MedLine and CINAHL, use Medical Subject Headings (MeSH). Most resources will allow you to look up the a appropriate MeSH term since you may or may not know the appropriate vocabulary immediately. I'm going to illustrate how to find MeSH vocabulary by using PubMed.
