Citing blogs is similar to citing other websites, but there are slight differences. You do need to include [Web log post] after the title of the blog entry to identify the item as a blog posting. Here are two examples of blog citations: one with a named author and one where only a screen name is provided.

Blog with an Identified Author

The citation for a blog contains the author name, date of posting, title of the post and the web address where the posting was found. In this case, I have the author's real name and the title of the post is "Factors to consider when choosing the perfect college". Do not italicize the blog post title. Here's what the citation looks like:

Blog without a Named Author

For many blogs, it's difficult to find the author's real name. Many will use a created screen name or simply their first name. Use whatever name is provided. In this example, the blogger goes by the screen name "Frugal Trenches" and that is the name I will use in the citation:
