POSITION: Human Resources Assistant (Class Code 107M); REF #009065 12-month, Full-time position

SALARY: Range 32: $2,212 - $2,855 per month

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Director of Human Resource Operations, the Human Resources Program Assistant will provide technical and clerical support for the Human Resource office and serve as the primary Human Resources receptionist.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical or customer service experience OR equivalent education/experience. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
CORE COMPETENCIES: Adaptability/Flexibility: Adapt easily to changing business needs, conditions and work responsibilities.
Level 1 Database: Use database software, such as Microsoft Access, to create template-based files and design simple tables, queries, data entry forms, and/or reports. Import data from other sources, sort records by multiple fields, find records, run simple queries, and filter by selection. Level I Spreadsheet: Use spreadsheet software, such as MS Excel to create, modify, print, and format spreadsheets, find and replace data, and work with basic formulas and functions. Level I Word Processing: Use word processing software, such as MS Word to create, format, edit, preview, print and save documents. Use standard functions to select, edit, copy, paste, format and spell check text. Managing Workloads: Effectively organize multiple assignments to produce work products that are accurate, thorough and on time. Multi-task: Effectively prioritize and perform multiple tasks in the same timeframe, handle interruptions appropriately, and return to incomplete tasks.
Verbal/Written Communication: Effectively express ideas and information using language that is appropriate to the knowledge and understanding of the audience.
Union shop provisions cover this position as the result of a majority vote by employees in the bargaining unit. All employees must either join the Washington Public Employee’s Association and pay regular union dues or pay a union representation fee on date of hire as required by the Dept of Personnel, Higher Ed. Division rules.
