POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Arts and Humanities Division Chair, the Program Manager works collaboratively with the Interior Design Program Chair to plan, coordinate and implement all aspects of the Bachelor of Applied Arts in Interior Design program.  Often the first point of contact for students and community members, the program manager promotes excellence in service, facilitates student recruitment and success, and helps to support a cooperative and inclusive learning community.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree AND three years of responsible supervisory and/or administrative experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of budget tracking and monitoring, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reimbursements
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience with MS Offices Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) using complex formats and applications, as well as website or desktop publishing software (Dreamweaver, Publisher, or similar).
  • Experience working well with diverse populations
  • Demonstrated experience with office/business procedures, student advising, marketing, customer service, or management

 

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • One year of professional experience in design-related field
  • Work experience in higher education, preferably a community college setting
  • Familiarity with course management software (HP)
  • Experience in curriculum scheduling
  • Experience in developing or writing marketing, recruiting and/or promotional materials
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong writing and oral communication with the ability to relate well to students, faculty, staff and the general public in a friendly, courteous and professional manner
  • Excellent communication skills in a variety of settings, including one-on-one, small group and large group interactions  
  • Experience in evaluating and assessing data to determine the efficiency and effectiveness of marketing, recruiting and outreach efforts
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability and willingness to work an alternate schedule, as need demands

Maintain department image and integrity by being thorough, accurate, and precise when preparing and disseminating information. Readily spots inconsistencies and errors in data, spelling and grammar.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Support and coordinate the daily operations of the BAA and AA interior design programs in collaboration with Interior Design program chair to facilitate administrative, faculty and student needs.
  • Track interior design department budget, including tracking and monitoring of expenses, serve as interface with Finance Office, division staff, and program faculty.
  • Create correspondence and develop marketing and other materials such as admissions packet, frequently asked questions, and website information about the BAA and AA programs; communicate with potential and current students, faculty, public, outside agencies, and other administrative liaisons.
  • Provide prospective students with accurate information about BAA program, admission process, and prerequisites. Refer students to additional college services that best meet students’ needs.
  • Review records of BAA students and provide ongoing advising and support for students in the BAA program in terms of general advising, course planning, and assistance to facilitate their success and consistent progression toward degree completion.
  • Train instructors and students to use academic advising portals to manage transcripts, transfer credits, program prerequisites, and special admission entry codes for registration.
  • Schedule advising appointments with faculty advisors.
  • Conduct information sessions in conjunction with program chair; disseminate advising, marketing and recruitment materials for BAA program.
  • Maintain BAA and AA websites and utilize diverse marketing tools to promote program.
  • Provide long and short term program planning based on relevant research and program assessments by collecting and tracking general student data, degree completion, effectiveness assessment, enrollment projections, and state reporting; coordinate with Enrollment Services and Institutional Research departments as needed.
  • Develop program information for quarterly academic class schedule, annual catalog, and other program reports and documents.
  • Coordinate classroom scheduling with program chair and faculty, Art department chair, division and Student Services personnel, and Office of Instruction to ensure efficient and effective use of facility and personnel resources.
  • Use fluently email, word processing, spreadsheet, publishing, presentation, website, enterprise information systems, and database programs.
  • Develop, monitor and implement a file management system for BAA application and other departmental materials.
  • Provide administrative support to professional advisory committee, including scheduling meetings, attending meetings, and taking minutes.

 

SALARY

The salary range is $45,222 - $49,745 with placement based on education and related experience.
