Intensive English / University Preparation Program

Tuition and fees/Payment Methods:

For the 2011-2012 academic year, one quarter tuition is $ 2,600. All students will also pay an additional $35 technology fee, $10 Environmental fee, and $35 Comprehensive and Commute Reduction fee each quarter. The technology fee grants each student access to the computer laboratory on campus. All F-1 students, who are on BC's I-20, are required to purchase BC contracted medical insurance, and it will cost $258.75 each quarter. Our students pay approximately $2,938.75 per quarter.

All ESL students are expected to pay as soon as they register for our ESL classes. Students can pay directly at the Cashier's office in the Student Services B-building by cash, personal check, money order, VISA/Master or Discover credit card, or traveler's check.

Admission Requirements/Deadlines:

BC has no deadlines. However, for overseas applicants, we recommend you apply at least 3 - 4 months before the quarter you wish to join. BC accepts students every quarter: Fall (September), Winter (January), Spring (March), and Summer (June). You are welcome to apply to BC as long as you have enough time to obtain a student visa in your home country and are able to arrive at the campus in order to begin classes by the first day of the quarter you are admitted.

  4. Official transcript in English from your previous school(s);
  5. Copy of the picture page of your passport including the expiration date;

Registration and Advising:

All new UP students are expected to take the BC ESL Placement Test that includes reading, writing, speaking, and listening on the first day of the quarter to determine at which level they should begin. Usually the tests take about 3 hours to complete.

The ISP advisors register all new and continuing UP students. Students are responsible to pay their tuition at the Cashier’s office immediately after registration. If you have any questions about your payment, class level, changes to your class schedules/level, medical insurance, etc., please come to the ISP office in H6 on the main campus. Our office hours are Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Our telephone number is 425-564-3185.
