Internships at BCC

View of BCC's L BuildingWelcome! Thank you for your interest in the BCC Academic Internship Program. Faculty, along with the student and the employer make up the essential components of a successful internship.

Each intern is required to be supervised by a Faculty Mentor. These are Instructors who the student chooses and who advise and mentor the student throughout the process.

The faculty mentor role is primarily one of connecting the student's learning in the internship to academic and theoretical learning in the classroom. The faculty mentor also acts to give the student feedback on their assignments, professional advice on career related issues and career pathways in their field.

Several departments, for example, Media, also sponsor internships for which the students register for classes within the respective department. The Academic Internship Program works closely with these departments to develop internships with local businesses and to prepare students to compete and apply for internships.
