Applying to the RATEC Program

The BC Radiologic Technology (RATEC) program admissions process includes submitting an application packet that includes a Imaging Sciences program application form.  A $40 non-refundable fee is required with this application. 

Apply for College Admissions

If you are not already a Bellevue College student, it is important that you apply for Bellevue College admissions. Students applying for an Imaging Sciences program may include a printed college admissions application along with your Imaging Sciences program application packet to prevent being charged the college admissions application fee (which is posted on the college website).

If you submit the college admissions application by mail, in-person or online (separately from the program application packet), you will be required to pay this additional fee. To avoid this fee, be sure to include your college admissions application when you submit your Imaging Sciences program application.

Application Packet

Be sure to type or print legibly on all materials you submit.  Your application packet should include the following:

• A completed Radiation & Imaging Sciences Program Application [PDF]
• A completed Radiologic Technlogy Prerequisite Worksheet [MS Word]
• Sealed copies of your transcripts (1 official copy from each college you have attended for prerequisite courses.)
• Your $40.00 application fee in check or money order, payable to Bellevue College. This is a non-refundable program application fee. Cash and credit card information cannot be accepted.
• Your personal statement. A personal statement of not more than 500 words discussing your work experience; your personal and professional goals; any specific or unique attributes that you will bring to the program; any personal or imposed challenges or hardships you have overcome in pursuing your educational or work goals; or any other special considerations that you believe will make you a good candidate for the program.

Applying for Other Programs

If you are applying to other Radiation and Imaging Sciences programs at BC, you’ll use the same Radiation & Imaging Sciences application form.  You may apply for more than one program on the same application—just check the boxes for each program you wish to apply for.  The$40 application fee covers your application to one or more programs, as long as you apply for all programs on the same application and submit it in a single mailing.  If you submit additional applications to apply for other programs later on, another $40 fee would apply to each additional application.  When applying for other programs, be sure to include separate personal statements for each program.  

Also be aware that other programs in Radiation & Imaging Sciences have additional requirements and different closure dates for their application periods and procedures. It’s your responsibility to see that your application is submitted and arrives in the Imaging Sciences office before the specified deadlines for the programs you’re applying.  Learn more about requirements for these programs on this website.
