Parent Education Beyond 5
For: Parents with children ages 5 and up.
Overview
Now that your child is beyond five years of age, he or she has officially reached "middle childhood". This class is designed to deal with the growing child and all the issues involved in this new stage of development. The class includes lots of discussion and ideas!
NOTE: The Beyond 5 class starts in late September and runs through May each school year.
Please note that class times, days, locations and tuition are subject to change. However, we do not anticipate changes at this time.
How to Register
A non-refundable registration fee will be due in late summer, before class begins in the fall.

Class placement is based on date form is received at the BC Parent Education office. For best class choice, form should be received as soon as possible.

A quarterly, one-day-per-month parent education opportunity FOR PARENTS ONLY. Discussions are designed to deal with the development and parental issues in raising older children.
PARED 136 Parenting the Young Child - Online
For: Parents with children ages birth-5.
This two-credit, quarter-long class is offered regularly, but not each quarter, and information on class availability can be found in the Bellevue College (BC) credit class schedule.
Overview
Help us spread the word, near and far, about this class for parents with children ages birth to five! This class is designed especially for parents who cannot attend our traditional parent and child classes, but is open to present and former Parent Ed students/parents!
This class is conducted completely online.
Components include:
- audio lecture
- observation/activity
- reading
- peer discussion and support
- individual application components
The curriculum is divided into units or topics relevant to parenting young children, including:
- Child Development
- Temperament
- Guidance and Discipline
- Effective Communication
- Sibling Relationships
- Feeding Young Children
Topics will, however, be flexible to meet the needs of the parents who are enrolled.
