Overview
The Parent Education Department at Bellevue College (BC) offers unique Enrichment Classes for children. These classes include days for parents to assist the teacher in the classroom and a version of Parent Education to match the age of the children involved. 
The Discovery Lab is a one day per week science class for five, six and seven year olds. Each week students will have the opportunity to conduct experiments, perform simple dissections, and make creative science projects. Discovery Lab aims to introduce science as an enjoyable and accessible investigation of the world around us.
Topics for the year include:
- chemistry
- geology
- marine biology
- space and rockets
- environmental issues
One of the highlights of the year is an overnight field trip.
Parent education classes are held once a month during the children’s class time. Parent education focuses on topics relevant to elementary school-age children including development, social issues, guidance and communication. Parents are required to assist in the children’s classroom six or seven times per year, including providing a snack once a year.
For the 2011-2012 school year, classes meet at Robinswood Barn, located in Robinswood Park, 2432 - 148th Ave. SE in Bellevue, across from the Bellevue College (BC) campus.
How to Register
Choose a class which best meets your child’s schedule. Cost for the school year 2011-2012 is $630, to be paid in three quarterly installments. Tuition for the 2012-2013 school year is to be determined. A non-refundable tuition deposit will be due when you register.

Class placement is based on date form is received at the BC Parent Education office. For best class choice, form should be received as soon as possible.

A one-day-per-week science enrichment cooperative for children ages 5 - 7 (5 by 8/31/11). Parent education is offered once per month during class time, and parents are expected to attend. Additionally, parents are asked to volunteer in the classroom six to seven times during the year, September through May.
NOTE: Discovery Lab classes start in late September and run through May for each school year.
