Overview
To further enrich your child's school experience, the Parent Education Department at Bellevue College (BC) offers unique Enrichment Classes for children. These classes include days for parents to assist the teacher in the classroom and a version of Parent Education to match the age of the children involved.
Each of these classes offers an explosion of activities to excite the mind and growing interest of the preschool and kindergarten aged child. Whichever class you choose, your child is certain to burst forth with enthusiasm for the creative discoveries he makes through full, hands-on participation.
The Creative Development Lab (CDL) is a one day per week art enrichment class for three to five year olds, including kindergartners. We do the messy projects you may not want to do at home! Each week we offer a new curriculum theme for the children's program with a large variety of art and creative activities. The 2012-13 school year will also feature a class trip to Bellevue Arts Museum for a special exhibit tour and art activity.
The CDL class is a cooperative learning program with parents volunteering in the classroom six times throughout the school year. Parents also attend one parent education class per month regarding parenting and family life issues. Classes are offered twice a month and parents can decide which day works best for them. Parent education classes are held during the same time the children’s class meets. Parents need to arrange child care for non-enrolled siblings during their volunteer and parent education days.
Ages: Your child should be three years old by October 31st for the school year starting that fall quarter. Kindergarten children may attend the class. Siblings from the same family may attend if they are between 3-5 years old and meet the birth date requirement. Younger children will be placed if there is room in the class.
How to Register
Choose a class that works for you and your child's schedule. Tuition per college quarter (fall, winter and spring) for the 2012-13 school year is $228; tuition for the 2013-2014 school year to be decided. A non-refundable tuition deposit will be due after you register. A second child from the same family will pay 20% less.

Class placement is based on date form is received at the BC Parent Education office. For best class choice, form should be received as soon as possible.

A one-day-per-week art enrichment cooperative for children aged 3 - 5 years (3 by 10/31/13). Parents attend parent education once a month during regular class times. Additionally, parents volunteer in the classroom five times during the year, September through May.
NOTE: Creative Development Lab classes start in late September and run through May each school year.
