Job description :
1. Performs standard  EEG.  Gather a patient's medical history, explain testing procedures, and prepare the patient for the procedure. Operates special EEG equipment measuring brain electrical activity. During testing, the EEG technician monitors the patient's status and notes any abnormalities.
2. Performs standard evoked potentials EP (upper or lower extremity, visual evoked potential).  Gather a patient's medical history, explain testing procedures, and prepare the patient for the procedure. Operates special evoked potential equipment measuring brain electrical activity. During testing, the technician monitors the patient's status and notes any abnormalities.
3. Performs standard motor and sensory nerve conduction studies (NCS) of upper or lower extremity. Gather a patient's medical history, explain testing procedures, and prepare the patient for the procedure. Operates special nerve conduction equipment measuring nerve electrical activity. During testing, the technician monitors the patient's status and notes any abnormalities.
Experience required: One (1) years EEG/EP experience.

The Nebraska Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a Neurodiagnostic Technologist.  This position performs various neurodiagnostic testing, including but not limited to routine and advanced EEG, LTVM, IOM EEG, EP’s, NCV’s and autonomic testing.
Qualifications:  High school diploma or GED required. Undergraduate in health sciences related field preferred. Minimum one year experience in health care setting required. Neurodiagnostic experience preferred. Formal neurodiagnostic's training program or equivalent preferred. National Board Registry from: Association of Electrodiagnostic Technologists (AAET) preferred, American Society of Electrodiagnostic Technology (ASET) preferred, Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) preferred. On the job training in EEG and/or EMG preferred. Knowledge and ability to use computers and related technology efficiently required. Working knowledge in all areas of neurodiagnostic testing preferred. Basic Life Support required.

Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte, Nebraska is a Joint Commission accredited stroke center, has an interventional cardiology service available, and will soon become a regional epilepsy center. Description:

We are looking for an experienced REEG Technician to provide excellent patient care in our new Neurology department to perform routine awake and asleep EEGs.

**Must be a Registered EEG Tech**

Duties:

Performs standard electroencephalographic examinations for patients as directed by a physician and according to established standards and practices. Operates specialized equipment which measures and records electrical activity of the brain, peripheral nervous system, and spinal cord. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, such as evaluation results, individualized treatment plans, progress reports, and other reports.

Performs all awake and asleep EEG procedures. Schedule and instruct patient for the EEG procedure. Maintain record log for each patient tested. Communicate preliminary reports to referring physician, and send final written report. Request medical supplies needed for EEG procedures. Clean and maintain equipment and exam area.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Professional credential of REEGT required. Addition of RPSGT a plus.

Current Healthcare provider CPR card.

Minimum of at least One (1) year EEG experience required.

Ability to perform calibrations on equipment.

Must be able to work under pressure, have the ability to adapt, and respond to emergency situations if required.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer skills, interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task, excellent organizational skills, ability to work well with coworkers and physicians, and provide excellent patient care.

Manual dexterity for electrode placement and machine operation, typing ability. Ability to speak clearly, communicate instructions, give and gather information in a succinct manner. Communicate by phone and in person to the patients, doctors, nurses, and fellow staff members regarding testing procedures. Communication with physicians as required per routine and/or emergent situation/case. Able to take instruction and apply to practical situation (trainable). Ability to calculate, quantify, qualify, use initiative and judgment, read and interpret data, organized and prioritize workload, memorize and follow a routine of work, follow instructions, recognize and report safety problems, orient to location spatially, observe and record observations.
