Paul Weatherly, the Alcohol/Drug Counseling Program Director prior to starting the program or registering for classes.

You probably have many questions about the field of chemical dependency treatment, job availability, applicable prior learning and, sometimes, personal recovery issues. These questions are best addressed in individual meetings. While appointments may be conducted by telephone, meetings in person are usually more productive.

This first point of contact is crucial in establishing a coordinated and informed entrance into the program as well as learning the importance of how to effectively use supervision in the field of addiction treatment.

The Alcohol/Drug Counseling program office in R130 is open Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. However, the Program Director has flexible office hours to accommodate the needs of working students and other individuals who are unavailable to meet during normal office hours. If you are interested, call 425-564-2012 to make an appointment.

Web-Based Learning Courses

Our program is now available in a web-based learning format. All of the courses in the program are available a minimum of once a year in an online learning format. These courses utilize the MyBC web portal.

If you are taking classes in this format, there is an evaluation fee of $25 in addition to the regular class fee. This fee covers the additional costs of instruction inherent in online environments. If you are employed as CDPT's and do not have the time or access to attend traditional college courses on campus, this option is designed for you! For more information please contact our office at 425-564-2012 and ask our office staff to set up time for you to speak with the program director or e-mail paul.weatherly@bellevuecollege.edu.

Prior Learning Assessment

We provide students with experience in the field of addiction counseling to earn credit via a prior learning assessment portfolio process. Experience is evaluated and credit rewarded based on the number of credits for individual classes on a course by course basis. To be eligible to earn prior learning credit, you must do a minimum of ten credits in residence at Bellevue College. If you are interested in documenting course work via the prior learning portfolio process, you will need to register for ALDAC 104.

Please contact us for more information if you are interested in Prior Learning Assessment.
