Educational
Partnership Benefits Business Students
BCC has teamed up with Washington
State University and Edmonds Community College to offer a four-year,
online degree in business administration. BCC and Edmonds C.C. will
offer lower division courses in an Associate in Arts transfer degree
in general business, while WSU provides the last two years of upper
division courses. The program, which started in January, is designed
to meet the needs of busy students with home or work commitments that
don’t allow them to attend classes on campus. Students may attend
information sessions in the cafeteria on April 19 (9:30a.m.) or May
9 (11:30 a.m. or 5 p.m.). For more information, contact the Distance
Education office at 564-2438 or visit the website at: http://wsudegree.edcc.edu/.
A Smooth
Change
The transition to a single
telephone prefix was remarkably smooth for the college last week.
The project consolidated seven different phone prefixes acquired throughout
the college system into one prefix for BCC. The change streamlines
the phone system and allows for fewer misdirected phone calls and
better customer service. Information Resources is grateful for everyone's
cooperation in this important project. Special thanks to the Tech
Services staff for their extra efforts and to all of the individuals
who offered suggestions on the numerous details of the prefix change.
Support
Your Favorite Radio Station
It’s spring - time for blooms,
warmer temperatures and the KBCS spring pledge drive! You can help
support KBCS with a pledge - just call in during the week of May 1

are also needed to answer the phones during the pledge drive. To offer
your assistance or get more information, contact Harriet Baskas at
564-2418 or via campus e-mail. And don’t forget to see their new program

the last two years.

Betty Kaczynski,
director of the Child Care Center, is the
proud mother of a successful artist. Her 26-year-old daughter Kelly,
an Evergreen State College graduate, is making a splash on the East
coast with “Minotaur’s Maze” at the Boston Public Library. Inspired
by the story of the Minotaur in Greek mythology, Kelly created an
interactive maze using sculpture and familiar objects. The art guides
visitors through the maze by introducing character turns and plot
twists from the Greek myth. For more details, read the
Boston Globe
