Bulldogs Women's Tennis wins 4th consecutive championship

Chapman named Coach of the Year

BCC Bulldogs Women's Tennis won their fourth consecutive NWAACC Championship over the weekend, pushing their undefeated streak to four years. And for the second year in a row, BCC's Jason Chapman was selected NWAACC Women’s Tennis Coach of the Year.

Thirty-five Washington and Oregon community colleges compete in the NWAACC (Northwest Athletics Association of Community Colleges) league.

In the seven-college NWAACC Northern Region for Women’s Softball, Bulldog Erica Addison (shortstop) was named Most Valuable Player for 2008, while BCC Coach Leah Francis was named regional Softball Coach of the Year.

Six Bulldog Women’s Softball players made the 2008 Northern Regional All-Star first team:

  • Lauren Smoot (infield)

  • Whitney Whittemore (2nd base)

  • Michelle Wilson (1st base)

  • Dawn Norcross (outfield)

  • Korri Heideman (infield/outfield)

  • Michelle Ruby (pitcher, infield)

Christine Miller-Long (pitcher) was named to the regional All-Star second team.

Bulldog golfers are still in the hunt at the NWAACC Championships, so stay tuned.
