A radio interview with Business Instructor Leslie Lum, on the importance of financial literacy, will air five times on Sunday morning, April 6. Catch the interview at 5 a.m. on KKNW 1150 AM; 5:30 a.m. on KIXI 880 AM; 6 am on KWJZ 98.9 FM; or 6:30 a.m. on KQMV 92.5 FM. Leslie was selected because she and fellow business instructors Debi Griggs, Alice Jenkins and Molly Blume have developed curriculum for a series of in-depth financial education workshops which, in partnership with the state Department of Financial Instructions, they are presenting state-wide. Gov. Chris Gregoire has declared April "Financial Literacy Month."

Life Science Instructor Dr. Gita Bangera represented BCC at the Faculty Serving Washington Assoc. meeting with legislators -- an event normally open only to 4-year colleges. BCC was invited by WSU faculty supporting BCC student research in genomics, a project Gita is leading.
