1)
Use the Blackboard Vista Help menu.
Perhaps
surprisingly, the on-board Help tool in Blackboard Vista is quite
robust. It is also contextual in that it will attempt to
begin your Help search with the items pertinent to where you are.
For example, if you are working with the Group Manager tool (Teach
> Group Manager), you'll
start off with an index of items relevant to the Group Manager tool.
Try it, it's not bad.
2) Use a "shout out".
There
are two units that are tasked with assisting faculty with the use of
Blackboard Vista. One is the Educational
Technology Services group,
led by
Asha Nelson, and whose primary function is to support and train faculty
using Blackboard. Contact this
group if you need to better understand how to use a tool. The
other unit is Curriculum Design
Services, led by
Mary Slowinski. This group works with faculty on designing
courses and instructions and can help you determine how to incorporate
the various processes described in the Panel of Pros
presentations.
2) Go online.
A good resource for quick assistance with basic Bb Vista tools and
functions is available at http://d2.parature.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=4216,

If
you use these
pages
for Bb Vista help, be sure to navigate from the main page to "Blackboard 8.0 Support >
Instructors >" to get the full menu of options to
display in the left navigation window, as illustrated below.
