What is it?

The BC Foundation luncheon is the biggest fundraising event of the year. Not only does it increase awareness of Bellevue College and the educational opportunities it offers our community, but it raises vital funds for the Foundation to support quality education and learning opportunities for all BC students.

Event Details

Date: Wednesday, May 1, 2013

Time: Doors open at 11:30 am and the program is from 12:00-1:30 pm

Where: Meydenbauer Center in downtown Bellevue (11100 NE 6th St, Bellevue)

Parking: Parking in the Meydenbauer Center Garage (circle A) is free during the BC Foundation luncheon

Student Speaker

A BC Foundation scholarship recipient will talk about how their scholarship has made a difference in their life.

 

Gerald Chertavian, Keynote Speaker

Gerald Chertavian is dedicated to closing the Opportunity Divide that exists in our nation. Determined to make his vision a reality, Gerald combined his entrepreneurial skills and his passion for working with urban young adults to found Year Up in 2000. Year Up is an iintensive one-year training and education program that serves low income youth ages 18-24. It provides the technical, professional and communication skills needed to empower urban young adults to make successful transitions to careers and higher education. Year Up has been recognized by Fast Company and The Monitor Group as one of the top 25 organizations using business excellence to engineer social change and has also been named one of the nation’s top 50 non-profits to work for by the Non-Profit Times. Mr. Chertavian is also the author of New York Times best seller, A Year Up.

  3. Online -visit the RSVP page

To RSVP, the following information is needed:

  • First and last name of all guests (including yours!)
  • Emails for each attendee
  • Are you part of a sponsored table or sitting with a specific table captain? If so, tell us!

Become a Table Captain

Signing up to be a table captain is a great way to get more involved and make an even bigger impact on the BC campus! Your goal as a table captain is to recruit 9 people (in addition to yourself) to sit at your table. Each guest is encouraged to make a contribution of $200 or more. But don't worry, you won't be alone in this endeavor! Foundation staff will provide you with resources to help you recruit guests. If you are interested or want to learn more, please contact the Foundation.

Anyone can sponsor a table! To learn more about sponsor levels and benefits, please contact the Foundation.

Donate

If you cannot make the luncheon or you can attend but want to make a donation now, you can! What are some ways that your money is used for? See below for a few examples:

  • $500 covers a student’s textbooks for one quarter.
  • $1,000 pays for full tuition for one quarter.
  • $3,000 provides one student with full tuition for one academic year.
  • $5,000 supports dynamic and innovative curriculum and program support.

There are several ways to donate to the Foundation:

  • Online by visiting the donation page (be sure to put "luncheon" in the comments section so we know you stopped by this page)
  • By phone -call 425-564-2386. Be sure to have your credit card ready!
  • In-Person -stop by our office (BC Campus, Building A Room 101)
