Dear Students,
Bellevue College is taking steps to be ready in case Swine Flu (H1N1 virus) starts spreading on our campus this season. Bellevue College is committed to the on-going prevention practices for your health and well-being as you begin the school year. We have established a “Ready for the Flu” website to keep you informed of the latest information about the flu and to provide resources, recommendations and planning guides on what you can do now to prepare, and what to do if you get sick.

On this site, your first step should be to sign up for a Bellevue College student email account and subscribe to get texts or e-mail emergency alerts that will keep you up to date on college news on the issue.
The site also has FAQs and general information about H1N1 flu. Here is a synopsis:
What are the Symptoms?
- Fever, cough, sore throat, body aches and headache. It may last up to seven days
How to Stay Healthy:
- Avoid Close Contact With Those Who Are Sick
- Cover Your Cough

- Notify your instructor(s) if you’re sick and can’t attend classes or complete assignments
- It’s OK to return to class 24 hours after you are free of fever
The college will continue working closely with local and state health departments to monitor flu conditions, so that we can make well-informed decisions.
