Meets the key learning outcomes mandated by state legislation and outlined by the Washington State Training and Registry System (STARS) for all childcare and school age providers, for 20 hour Basic Training.

Prerequisite:Conversational level English skills and permission of instructor. Fee: $21.00 malpractice insurance paid once per year. Nine clinical hours per week.

ECED 198 Special Seminar: Building Relationships with Families • 1 CR

Seminar will focus on building strong teacher-parent relationships, building greater understanding of the importance of positive partnerships with parents in your school or child care center. Learn strategies for managing difficult conversations with parents, and ways to be proactive in communication strategies.

Meets Washington STARS requirement of 10 hours or 1 college credit annual education. May be repeated for a maximum of 15 credits.
