    What should we expect from this rise in women politics? Will politics be done differently? Will anything change?

    Occupying the Academy: Just How Important is Diversity Work in Higher Education? Keynote by Dr. Christine Clark

    Location: N201

    This keynote will discuss the challenges of doing diversity work in higher education from the lens of equity and diversity workers at all levels in college and university settings. It will also discuss durable strategies for moving higher education diversity work forward.

    Building Bridges: Alliances between Women of Color and White women: A facilitated discussion by Dr. Christine Clark

    Time: 2:45-4:00 p.m.

    Location: D106

    Dr. Clark will facilitate an informal discussion on women of color and white women in the academy. How do you engage in race equity work as a white woman? What is the interplay between race, racism and patriarchy in the academy?  Refreshments provided.

    Dr. Christine Clark is Professor of Curriculum and Instruction, Senior Scholar for Multicultural Education and Founding Vice President for Diversity and Inclusion at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Clark received a B.A. in economics with a minor in geology from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania; and an M.Ed. with areas of specialization in cross-cultural counseling and multicultural curriculum development, and an Ed.D. with areas of specialization in multicultural/bilingual education, multicultural organizational/community development, and urban educational leadership, both from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

    The BC Financial Aid Office will host  free tax assistance and Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) workshops on campus over the next three months.   If you earned less than $57,000 in 2012 and plan to file a 1040A or 1040EZ, United Way tax volunteers can help you file your taxes for FREE!   Afterwards, BC Financial Aid advisors can help you complete your FAFSA online and explain other items needed to receive financial aid at BC.   Bring your necessary tax documents and come see us on one of the following dates:
