4Science Division Open House

SAMI and the Bellevue College Science Division will host a celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) on Saturday, May 4 from 10am to 2pm in the college's S (Science) Building. The event is free and open to the public. All activities will take place in the S building on the main campus of Bellevue College. Free parking will be available in the Bellevue College Parking Garage. During the event, visitors of all ages can collect stamps in their STEM passports as they engage in hands-on activities and demonstrations from BC's five Science Division programs: Earth and Space Sciences; Engineering Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematics, and Physical Sciences. Activities will include: An insect room with butterflies, Bess Beetles, and termites Wave Tank Demonstrations in the Oceanography lab A Shark Tooth Fossil Dig Planetarium Shows Demonstrations of BC's Giant Van De Graaff Generator and Vacuum Cannon in the Physics lab Exciting Chemistry Demonstrations from the Chemistry Club Math Puzzles and Activities Engineering Experiments...and more! Native Vision documents the experience of a young Navajo girl who is removed from her home and placed in a government-run boarding school in an effort to "civilize" Native Americans. Her vision of becoming a modern healer in a changing world is brought to life as her community joins the US in WWII.
