Advanced Placement Credit

If you were engaged in college-level study in high school through the College Board's Advanced Placement (AP) Program, you can obtain credit toward a BC degree or certificate, placement in advanced classes, or both, on the basis of your performance on AP examinations.

Course Placement

For placement into an eligible advanced course, bring an original copy of your AP test results to the Assessment Office, Room B132.

College Credits

To obtain college credit towards your degree or certificate program at BC, contact the College Board and request that AP scores be sent to the BC Records Office.


General Policy for AP Credits

1. When can I request for AP credits?

Advanced Placement credits may be requested after successful completion of 10 BC college credits. Credits will not be granted if the equivalent college course has been taken.

2. How are AP tests considered for college credit?

Advanced Placement credits or placement into advanced courses is granted according to AP course and score earned.

 

3. How many AP credits can be granted?

A maximum of 60 quarter AP credits may be awarded, although not all credits apply toward a BC degree or certificate.

4. Will the AP credits appear on BC transcript?

Yes. When credit is granted, the BC official transcript will record "AP Engl Lang/Comp - Engl& 101 5.0 Credits".


How do I send an AP Grade Report to BC?

To have a copy of your AP grade report sent to the BC Records Office, You may contact College Board by phone at (609) 771-7300 or toll-free (888) 225-5427, or mail to AP Exams, P.O. Box 6671, Princeton, NJ 08541-6671.

To ensure that your AP scores match up with your BC academic record, be sure to identify your name and Social Security Number with the College Board in the exact same way you currently have in BC.
