MATH
ASSESSMENT TESTING
Before you request Math assessment, you must be
enrolled at Bellevue Community College and have
received your Student Identification Number (SID). If you are
not enrolled, we cannot give you an assessment test
or enter your placement on the computer.
Assessment at a Distance
While it is preferred that assessment for math
classes take place on campus, in certain cases it
is available at a distance. Information can be obtained
directly from the Distance Education Office at (425)
564-2438, toll free via 1-877-641-2712, or via e-mail
to liz.anderson@bellevuecollege.edu
The assessment instrument is available in hard
copy and must be administered by an approved
proctor provided by the student and validated
by the Bellevue College Distance Education Office. The Distance
Education Office will forward the exam to the proctor
and provide a return envelope for the completed
exam; all proctoring fees are the sole responsibility
of the student. There is a $15.00 processing fee
levied by Bellevue Community College. This fee must
be paid prior to registration for classes.
The Distance Education Office will forward the
assessment instrument to the Math Department faculty
who will evaluate the work and assign the appropriate
level of classes. Please plan well in advance, as
this process is time consuming, and there are no
guarantees of class availability for Distance Education
students.
