BELLEVUE COLLEGE CERTIFICATE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT: Business Intelligence Analyst

Updated to reflect Common Course Numbering, effective Summer 2008

What is it?

The Business Intelligence Analyst certificate is designed to prepare students for positions analyzing data, developing reports, working as team members on data warehousing projects, and interfacing with IT organizations.  Students gain an understanding of the components of a Business Intelligence solution while developing and enhancing their data management and analysis skills.

This certificate program includes three BI courses covering Multi Dimensional Analysis, Data Warehousing, and Data Mining. Students will work with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and Microsoft’s Business Intelligence Development Studio as they develop solutions for “real world” problems.

Students may use the computer labs on campus or they may obtain the software free of charge from the Bellevue College Library Media Center (in which case it is the student’s responsibility to install and maintain the software).

More information on the program may be found at:  http://bellevuecollege.edu/bi

Business Intelligence Overview:

Business Intelligence professionals help organizations transform vast amounts of data into insight and action.  Business Intelligence (BI) has become essential in many organizations because it provides the means to deal with growing data volumes and increased data complexity. BI solutions are focused on identifying, acquiring and reporting the essential information needed to make informed decisions.

Cost per class:

The program requires application to Bellevue College to obtain a Bellevue College student number, quarterly registration and payment of tuition, course fees, books and/or software for each class.  Please review the “What Will It Cost” page on the Distance Education Website for current information on tuition and fees.  If you qualify for the US Citizen/Permanent Resident tuition as noted in the middle column, you must contact the Distance Education Office or the Registrar’s Office for this reduced tuition.  After you register for classes, you must call to verify eligibility each quarter in order to have your final costs manually adjusted, otherwise you will be charged the higher non-resident tuition.  Questions about tuition and fees?  Give the Distance Education Office a call at 425-564-2438 or toll-free at 1-800-641-2712.
