Uninstalling old versions of Java, or unwanted second-party browser toolbars, may be necessary for Vista to function on your machine. Here's how:

1. Click on the Start, Settings, and then Control Panel
2. Click on the Add or Remove Programs
3. Within this window find the names of the toolbar, or older version Java applications,and uninstall them.
4. Restart your computer

*If you still have pop-ups being blocked than you may have another program on your computer that is blocking pop-ups. Some anti-virus software such as Norton may also include a pop-up blocker. See Disabling Pop-Up Blockers t to determine this and to disable these blockers.
