Description:

ART 201 is a completely online class with no on-campus meetings necessary. The course begins in the caves of the Prehistoric time period and goes through the great early ancient civilizations of Mesopotamia, Egypt, Greece, Rome, and the Byzantine Empire. The course then turns to the development of Christian Art in Western Europe from Pre-Christian early medieval cultures to the styles of the high Middle Ages: the beautiful cathedrals of the Romanesque and Gothic.
