NURS 233Z Maternal Newborn Nursing Clinical • 1 Cr.

Description:

This course focuses on clinical observations, as well as in-hospital experience in labor/delivery, mother/baby care, and the care of pregnant mother and newborn. Prerequisite: NURS 231X and NURS 231Z.

Outcomes:

After completing this class, students should be able to:

1. Provide care for selected clients in the labor and delivery and post- partum setting, incorporating skills learned during previous quarters. 2. Demonstrate skills learned in previous quarters and demonstrate new skills learned during the Nursing Skills component of N231Y. 3. Adapt client care to ensure compliance in diverse health care settings by adhering to agency policies and/or procedures in the management and delivery of care of the pregnant client and newborn.
