An introduction to the attitudes, skills and personal characteristics that contribute to personal, academic, career and life success; the characteristics of positive attitude and self-esteem as an essential factor to personal health and positive relationships; recognizing and eliminating self-defeating behavior. Prerequisites: Concurrent enrollment with CEO 101 and 105, active CEO Program partipant.
Outcomes:
After completing this class, students should be able to:
Demonstrate understanding of the nature of self-esteem and the factors that influence the development of positive self-esteem. Demonstrate ability to identify and recognize self-defeating beliefs and behaviors that may prevent personal growth and success. Demonstrate ability to accurately self-evaluate strengths and capabilities. Demonstrate ability to develop a plan to enhance self-esteem Demonstrate understanding of the communication skills appropriate for enhancing self-esteem and personal growth. Demonstrate understanding of personal strategies for success that include and value individual uniqueness. Demonstrate the ability to achieve a balance between emotional control and emotional expression. Demonstrate an increased awareness of elements involved in establishing and maintaining relationships. Develop a plan to address the traits essential to change self-identified detrimental behavior patterns. Demonstrate goal-setting skills to develop a life plan of accomplishment.
