- Upper Division Skill Standards
Why do employers appear to prefer technician and
paraprofessional job candidates with four year degrees to highly proficient two year degree
holders? Nearing completion in February 2005, the Upper Division Skills Standard
project will answer this and provide insight to Community Colleges to enhance their programs
to meet industry expectations.
- Strengthening Connections
Factors Affecting Employer Perceptions of Community and Technical
College IT Graduates Commencing in February 2005 in partnership with Information Technology
Association of America (ITAA), this two year project will explore the factors affecting employer perceptions
of community college IT graduates, document case studies of exemplary education-employer
partnerships, and provide recommendations for building, extending, and sustaining
productive employer / educator partnerships.

- 2005 - 2006 IT Trends Assessment
Across the country, enrollments in core
IT programs are down by 40 percent since 2000, and colleges are struggling
to reinvent IT curriculum and attract more students. The
"Applications of Information Technology: Trends Assessment for 2007 - 2008"
report presents a compilation, synthesis, and analysis of national and regional
workforce trends research on how the IT industry has changed in the
