  Welcome to the Center for Information Technology Excellence!

  Headquartered at Bellevue College, the Center for IT Excellence (CITE) is a statewide resource for:
  • Community and technical colleges,
  • K-20 educational system, and,
  • Information technology (IT) industry.
CITE, as an information resource and solutions-provider regarding model educational programs, supplies:
  • Best practices for IT education and training;
  • Up-to-date research, including IT trends that impact hiring and educational needs and Business growth across industry sectors in Washington State;
  • Information dissemination; and,
  • K-20 faculty professional development conferences and student events.

CITE is affiliated and co-located with the National Workforce Center for Emerging Technologies (NWCET) at BC. Sponsored by the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, CITE is one of eleven Centers of Excellence in Washington and the only one of the Centers devoted to Information Technology.
   
  What's New at CITE
  2009 Working Connections Faculty Development Institute
  The Working Connections IT Faculty Development Institute (WC Institute) will be holding its 11th annual Working Connections Institute August 25-28, 2009 (Tuesday through Friday), at Bellevue College. Tracks have been selected based upon the survey results.

Registration Fee Announcement (Important!)
The registration fee per participant is $450.
Based upon the economy dramatically affecting some faculty's ability to secure professional development and travel funds, there will be a temporary reduction of the registration for the 2009 year only.

The registration fee does not cover lodging. A special rate will be negotiated with a local hotel for your convenience.

For registrations the fee is due within 30 days of registration. Please make checks payable to: Bellevue College, 3000 Landerholm Circle SE, N211 Bellevue, Washington 98007

Tracks for 2009 If you need to make special payment arrangements, because funding is available after the turn of the fiscal year, June 30, please make that note in the "comment section" of the registration. Contact Maureen Majury at 425.564.4229 or by email with further questions, or comments.

  CITE Awarded Grant to Create IT and Cyber Security Curriculum
  The Center of Excellence for IT was awarded a grant to create IT and Cyber Security Curriculum by our State's Center for Excellence for Homeland Security. We would like to thank Mike Campbell, Director for the Center of Homeland Security, for the award. We would like to thank Michele Royer, NWCET, and Linda Rumans, BC IT & CS Faculty for creating the curriculum modules and PowerPoint presentations.
