Frequently Asked Info

Can you recommend other centers?
For information about local childcare, contact Child Care Resources at 425-865-9350 or visit their Web site at www.childcare.org.

When is the Center Closed?
The Center will be closed on the following eleven holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran's day, Thanksgiving and the Friday after, and Christmas (2 consecutive days). ELC will also be closed to children two days per year for a professional staff development day.

What is fulltime?
Full-time families can schedule up to ten hours per day. By state law, children may only be at the Center ten consecutive hours per day.

Are there part-time slots available?
Half-day slots are available before 12:30 and after 1:15 when full-time slots do not fill the center.

What about Head Start?
Limited spaces are available for Head Start, a federally funded program for low-income families. Enrollment (for children aged 3-5) is based on income. Head Start curriculum, schedule, and daily activities are comparable to our regular preschool program, but there are enhanced services and family support components in areas such as health, community services, and leadership opportunities.

What about after-school care?– Families can enroll kindergarten (only) children before and/or after school. Families need to arrange transportation or contact the school district as no transportation to or from public school programs is provided by ELC.
