Jayne earned her Business Administration degree with a concentration in Management. She graduated with a 3.73 GPA and was UW Bothell's 2007 Chancellor's Medallist in recognition of her extraordinary commitment to learning and inspiration to students and faculty during her time at UW Bothell.

Shortly after beginning her studies in June 2005, Jayne was diagnosed with breast cancer and her life took a drastic turn. She was forced to leave school and endure chemotherapy and surgery in order to take care of her illness. Upon her return in January 2006, an anxious Jayne was ready to resume her full-time schedule, but regaining her health was a priority so Jayne had to reduce her workload for a few quarters due to ongoing treatment.

Jayne was the first in her family to graduate with a Bachelor of Arts degree.
