Registration for Spring Training Baseball Camps for
baseball players ages 7-12 has begun for the 2012 season. See below for details. These
instructional offerings run on the front and tail end of mid-winter break, just before the practice season begins on March 1. Camps which are indoors specialize in hitting, pitching,
catching, and fielding. Detailed information is posted below.
Summer
Registration for summer baseball camps are ongoing.
Camps are offered in July and August, running Mon-Thu from 9 AM
to 3PM. All camps are usually full by July. Applicants are encouraged
to register before the school year ends.
- Why Bellevue College Baseball Camps? Several reasons: our coaches, our reputation and tradition, our facilities, and our location. We are also not a private baseball business. Instead, we are state-funded educational institution working closely with joint partnerships helping our local youth baseball communities and surrounding school districts. Bellevue College Baseball not only provides volunteers for the local Little Leagues but also gives significant donations back to several local elementary schools within our communities of the Bellevue and Issaquah School Districts. Our coaching staff that directs one of the most successful college programs in the nation (the squad was ranked #8 in the nation in 2011) directs youth instruction with the same attentive detail as they do with the collegiate players...the same coaches who have led a program to a winning season for the past 30 years...the same coaches who led Bellevue to the conference championship title in '07, '09, '11. Head Coach Mark Yoshino has been organizing the youth instruction for almost 20 years. We encourage you to speak with ANYONE who has attended our camps in the past to verify this commitment. It is our attempt to offer the best combination of instruction and fun in a quality environment. Our facilities and location are ideal for the entire eastside community. A large indoor fieldhouse (spring camps) and one of the top outdoor fields in the state (summer camps) are luxuries that are second to none. Our offerings have benefited thousands of young ball players for the past twenty five years, as BC’s baseball camps have served the eastside community longer than any other organization. Please take time to look through our offerings below and feel free to call if you have any questions.
SPRING TRAINING INDOOR CAMPS—Hitting - Pitching - Infield/Outfield - Catchers
These are one day offerings that specialize in only one area. Camps in 2012 are on the front and tail end of mid-winter break for most school districts; plan your baseball preparation around your vacation now! Because they are not multi-day camps. the purpose for these are 50% informational for both player and coach/parent and 50% practice/activity. These have been considered to be one of the best bargains in the Puget Sound region; college level coaching, player analysis, practice, and invaluable parent-coach information to take home...all for only $30.
SUMMER CAMPS
Continuing this summer will be an even finer breakdown of ages for our summer camps. While many camps blend all ages from 7-12 into one camp, then breaking them up into groups, our summer camps will be limited to only those in the appropriate age range.
Hitting, fielding, baserunning, team defense concepts, and pitching will be covered. Our summer camps emphasize four things: fun, lots of instruction, lots of prizes, and a great facility. Players receive numerous baseball memorabilia goods and have opportunities to win items such as bats, gloves, and pro baseball prizes.
MAJOR LEAGUE ALL-STAR CAMP
In our continued attempt to break down summer camps that are appropriate for age AND skill level, we are asking that only players age 10-12 who either have made, or are currently on an all-star or travel select team to sign up for the Major League All-Star Camp for 10-12 year olds. We have noticed in the past that the enjoyment of camp is even better when all players are of similar skill and age. The emphasis of the camp will still be hitting and pitching, with the players pitching in live games.
This camp gives the best of both worlds: intense instruction and games! These camps are for serious ball players who most importantly, don't want the baseball season to end in August. If your son can't get enough of baseball in the month of August and want the challenge of being around others with similar passion and ability, then this one's for you. This year's camp will be in early August right after the All-Star tournaments in your local district are completed - a great way to keep the same core group of player together for advanced instruction to move on to the next level. We are encouraging teams / groups of player to sign up since the camp is an excellent opportunity to prepare players for more challenging levels of play in the select and / or Sandy Koufax arena.
