Background: Is entering third year after rehabbing last year (2011) from Tommy John surgery...initially injured arm in high school but pitched a full season for the Bulldogs in 2010...made Second Team All-North Region relief pitcher last spring after racking up six wins as a reliever, ending the season with a 6-1 record and a 1.97 ERA...walked only six batters in 32 innings...is sitting out the 2011 season for Bellevue while recovering from elbow surgery...Two-year letter-winner at Skyline HS for Coach Chris Tamminen… 4-4 record with a 4.02 ERA and 55 SO’s in 40 IP as a senior… named to KingCo 4A All-Star Team for seniors… 4-3 record with a 1.93 ERA and 32 SO’s in 40 IP as a junior… honorable mention All-KingCo 3A… team finished as KingCo 3A champs… played summer baseball for Lakeside for Coach Rob Reese.
Personal: Born December 15, 1990...son of Fran (business development manager, Boeing) and Patti (executive officer, Northwest Marine Terminal Association) Fulghum… one brother (Gary, 25)… father played baseball at the University of Delaware… grandfather (Fran sr.) played baseball at Wake Forest and Canadian professional baseball in Nova Scotia also coached high school baseball team in Delaware to 4 state championships… 3.44 GPA in high school… scholar athlete award winner… areas of study include video production, sports management, and coaching… chose Bellevue because of the great baseball program and to stay close to home… heard about the Bellevue program from Bob Levitin… lists greatest baseball thrill as striking out batters… dedicating this season to his friends and family… self-described as easy-going… goal for this year is to add more mph to his fastball.
