Background: A sophomore academically but a freshman for athletic eligibility due to an early season-ending wrist injury in '08 after hitting .350...Three-year letter-winner for Jackson HS for Coach Kirk Nicholson…Hit .363 as a senior with 8 doubles, 4 triples, 25 RBI’s, and 11 stolen bases…team finished 18-3…was named second team All-WesCo 4A outfielder…team was 27-0 and ranked second nationally during junior year capturing state 4A title…played summer ball for Reality Sports for Coach Brian Potoshnik…hit .420 with 58 RBI’s and 55 stolen bases.
Scouting Report: The team's top prospect, pro or division I-wise, and one of the most interesting in the entire northwest...fastest player at the NWAACC Sophomore Showcase in Longview this past September …an unknown behind other players at Jackson HS, has blossomed this fall at Bellevue…runs a 6.6 60 yard dash and has the best arm on the team…strong hands and can hit with wood…has the ability to stay inside the ball better than any hitter on the team…great range in outfield coupled with savvy instincts on the basepaths…has all the tools to have an all-everything year…great student in the classroom as well.
Personal: Born April 8, 1989 in Fresno, CA…so of Wayne and Donna Robertson…one brother Matthew (16)…nickname is Robo…interested area of study is business…chose Bellevue because of the baseball program…heard about Bellevue’s program from summer coach and former BCC assistant Brian Potoshnik…also considered attending Columbia Basin and Lower Columbia College…lists greatest baseball thrill as winning the 4A state title at Safeco Field…dedicating season to his late grandma…self-described as a hard worker…goals are to help the team in any way and to win NWAACC.
