WOMEN'S SOCCER COACHING STAFF

Kiko Magana
HEAD COACH

Kiko Magana enters his second year coaching at Bellevue College. For the 2011-12 seson, Magana was the assistant coach for the men’s and women’s soccer programs. He helped coach a strong start for the women’s team with a first half overall record of 8-2-1 with 29 goals for and allowing 10 against. Injuries plagued the team in the second part of the season but still managed to make the playoffs and finished with an overall record of 9-7-4. Magana helped rebuild the men’s team which had 4 returning players and 15 freshmen and ended the season with a record of 3-10-3.

Magana comes from Hutchinson, KS where he helped lead his high school to a quarter-finalist finish in ‘00, state runner-up finish in ‘02, and semi-finalist finsih in ‘03. He was selected with all-conference, region and state honors for his sophomore through senior years.

Magana’s collegiate career began at Iowa Central Community College. In ’04 he helped the Tritons become Region XI Champions and District Semi-Finalist with a record of 18-2-0 contributing to 18 games, 9 goals, and 4 assists with 22 total points and selected to the All Region XI team. In ’05 Magana’s ICCC team was again Region XI Champions and District Runner-Up with a record of 17-5-0. Magana played in 7 games with 4 goals and 2 assists totaling 10 points before suffering a closed tibia fracture.
Magana transferred to Lees McRae College (NC) and in ’06 made a full recovery from his closed tibia fracture playing in 16 games. In ’07 Magana helped the Bobcats to one of their most successful seasons by becoming Regular Season & Conference Tournament Champions and advancing to the NCAA Division II Elite Eight ending the season with a record of 21-2-1. Magana graduated from Lees McRae College with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management.

Before moving to the Pacific Northwest Magana coached for TSC Hurricane (Tulsa, OK) and at Thomas Edison High Preparatory School where he coached boys’ varsity and jr. varsity coaching the varsity to their 1st playoff appearance in 3 years.

While in the Pacific Northwest Magana has coached at University Prep (Seattle, WA), Cascade FC (Snoqualmie, WA), Foster High School (Tukwila, WA) and Seattle United. Beginning Spring 2013 Magana will be involved with youth development camps and clinics through EYSA (Eastside Youth Soccer Association) and coach with Mercer Island Youth Soccer Club.

Evan Gaul
ASSISTANT COACH

Evan Gaul was named assistant coach for the Bellevue College women’s soccer program in December 2012.  The Spokane native played at Lewis and Clark HS.  He was a four-year letter-winner for the Tigers and was team captain in 2006.  He then  played two years of community college soccer at Shoreline. He was the starting goalkeeper and was also named team captain for the Dolphins in both '07 and '08 before finishing his college eligibility playing at Seattle University.  He contineus to play semi-professionally for the North Sound Sea Wolves, USL-PDL based out of Snohomish County.

Gaul holds USSF National C license and NSCAA Goalkeeping Level III Diploma. He is an NSCAA National Diploma candidate.  Evan’s coaching experience includes head coach experience for both select and premier teams in the Seattle United program. He was the Head Coach for Seattle Unifed B99 West White in '12 and '13, and is presently the Head Coach of the B99 West Blue, G98 West Blue, and the Assistant Coach for the Washington State Youth Soccer EPD G00 squad. He is also the current junior varsity head coach for Ballard HS.

Gaul is a 2011 graduate of Seattle University, holding a degree in Public Affairs.
